Course Outline

Unit 1: HTML & CSS Basics
  • Become acquainted with basic developer tools like text editors. Build your first website using HTML and CSS, and learn how to use the box model, grids, and media queries to achieve responsive behavior.

Unit 2: Adding Interactivity
  • Learn basic programming fundamentals in JavaScript and use it to add event handlers so that your site can respond to user behavior.

Unit 3: Building in Concert
  • Tie together topics from the previous two units, and learn how to debug and refactor your code.

Unit 4: Final Project
  • Design and build a website of your choice; it can be a portfolio website, a marketing website for a startup or business, or even a prototype for a simple web application.

Throughout the course, you’ll also complete a number of smaller labs designed to reinforce what you’ve learned in each unit.
